first class lounges dubai
Excuse me in advance if this has been answered before but when traveling in F from Dubai terminal 3 can one use any of the F lounges regardless of which concourse ones flight departs from? ie if not on an A380 can one still use the new lounge at concourse A? Thank you

Theoretically you must use the lounge in the Concourse (A, B or C) that your flight is departing from. In practice you may be allowed in to a different one by the Lounge Guardians depending on their demeanor and how busy the lounge is.

Thank you for your swift reply. My quandary is whether its worth flying A380 DXB to LHR to experience the new lounge on concourse A, or 777-300ER from/to LGW. Im pretty much equidistant from both London airports.

Taking the A380 will increase your chances of using A but not all A380 flights depart from A as there are A380 gates at all three concourses. 777's also use A on occasion to add to the quandry! Having said all that whichever concourse you leave from it is worth having a go at getting in to the lounge in A by turning up and being polite and saying that you just want to experience it for the first time and you will probably be let in. Just be sure to leave yourself enough time to get to your gate if you are actually leaving from one of the other concourses.

Thank you very much MRTDXB

I have never had difficulties accessing the lounge in the B concourse even when my flight has been scheduled for A or C concourse.

BTW, I prefer the concourse B FCL over the concourse A FCL any day. Its much more spacious and has a very distinct feel than any of the other EK lounges anywhere on the network. |

Not saying that you are officially allowed to visit a different lounge to that which you are flying from, because I don't know what the "rule book" says. But from experience, they don't seem to mind, as I have done this a few times since concourse A has opened, and not once have they said anything. |

Just as a quick addition of a datapoint, since Concourse A has opened I have never flown out of Concourse B, and most of my flights have been on a 777. I even flew an A340 inbound to DXB that parked at Concourse A.

Which Lounge: A or B?
So, from what I've gathered, if both our arrival and onward departing flights are A380's, we will be arriving and departing in the A Concourse. After doing some research on the lounges on EK.com, is there a distinction to the level of fit and finish in either the F lounge in Concourse A or B? Asked another way, would we be a) allowed to go the F lounge in the B Concourse if it were superior to the one in A, or b) is the B lounge superior or exactly the same as the one in Concourse A (so it doesn't really matter)?
Are there quiet rooms in both F lounges in the respective Concourses? |

As per post #4 above, this is not necessarily the case.

Right, I didn't make my statement very well. ...chances are, we'll be arriving/departing from A...

A new question: if we are connecting in DXB and are booked in F on the inbound flight, but booked in J on the onward, connecting flight, will we be allowed access to the F lounge, or is it purely based on your departing flight?
