A6-ECB Business Class
 

I was wondering if anyone has been on A6-ECB recently, since according to http://http://www.theeksource.com/b77w73rseatmap.html and http://http://www.planespotters.net/...B-Emirates.php and http://http://www.flyertalk.com/foru...eet-guide.html A6-ECB has the old 'Deep Recliner' Seats in J, but in Y it has the new ICE Digital Widescreen. Does anyone know if it is correct, or if the plane has been upgraded, because I'm not sure how they would be able to get ICE Digital Widescreen on the old J :confused::confused::confused:

Okay, its a 2 class 300ER yes? If you look further on this forum you will see a thread that says all 2 class 300ER's have now been upgraded so there is no deeply reclining product left on any of the 2 class 300ER's

ECB was equipped with ICE digital widescreen before the deeply reclining seats were replaced so it is possible.

I know that is what is on the fleet guide, but then how did EK manage to still keep 400 seats in Y, since the Lie-Flat seats take up more space?

AFAIK, the new seats do not take up more space. There's a reason they were designed to lie flat at 170 and not 180 degrees.

Yes they do. The Lie-Flats have a seat pitch of 60 inches, while deep reclining seats have a pitch of 46 inches.

The refurbished 2-class 777-300ERs have 386 seats in y instead of the previous 400 to make space for the larger 42 Lie Flats in J. A6-ECB should have been refurbished as well.

Theeksource and Planespotters are not really always up to date on refurbishments....

First the 777-300 and the 777-200ER got refurbished, getting the SkyCruisers and the LieFlats, then the two-class 777-300ER and now finally the refurbishments for the class 300ERs has been completed.
73R and 73X should be obsolete by now in terms of aircraft codes. Only 73M&N (ULH version 3-class, 304 Y seats)
73V&W (LH version 3-class, 310 Y seats, no crew rest)
73J&H (2-class, 386 Y seats)
are left.

As for ICE some got the standard version, some the widescreen one and some the modified widescreen version. Data on that is quite inaccurate, codes do not always correspond with the actually deployed aircraft and often change a few days prior to the flight...

If you look at the Fleet Guide, ECB has lie-flats and 386 seats in Y not 400

I flew on A6-ECB CMB-SIN a month ago. It has the angled flat seats in J, Weber seats in Y, and runs the old S3000 ICE IFE system, where the flight attendants face greets you on the screen.

So it still has the old ICE entertainment? Strange, I thought all A6-EC* had been upgraded to ICE Digital Widescreen. That means the Fleet Guide is wrong about this aircraft, and maybe some others as well.

As far as I am aware, A6-ECB is the only EC series aircraft with the old ICE S3000 IFE system. A6-ECA, A6-ECC to A6-ECZ were all delivered from Boeing with the eX2 ICE Digital Widescreen system fitted. Probably an anomaly due to -ECB being a 2 class aircraft as opposed to the rest of the EC series (except ECY and ECZ) being 3 class long haul aircraft.

A6-ECB has been reported as having ICE digital widescreen since the original guide by Emirates777 was put together prior to the FAQ3 thread, so several years ago now.

Just checked on this and ECB is indeed without the Digital Widescreen. Fleet Guide has been updated
