Lack of Card...
If I had any hair, I would have pulled it all out by now.
Okay, I'm 'only' a pitiful blue level, didnt get enough miles in the tank to keep silver status but I had an email back in April to confirm my name and contact details so they can send my new card out. Fast forward to almost August and still nothing. I have sent 4 emails, always get the same automated reply sorry for the delay, you'll get the card in 3 to 4 weeks. I have made several phonecalls where the agent(s) have promised to speed up the process and get the card to me 'within 2 weeks' Nothing has happepend. Now I am booked into the Atlantis for a week at the end of August on a special offer via Skywards with a heavily discounted room, but I have to present my Skywards card on checking in to get this rate. I am running out of time. I dont have the extra £600 sterling that it will be for the room if I dont get the card, I still have my silver card (as you know, silver goes to blue) but that has expired so I doubt I can use that? Any suggestions please? |
Why not print a temporary card yourself? Tell them that Skywards has not yet sent you your new card and when you called to check, they asked you to print the temporary card from the website. Hopefully, that should work with the hotel
Log in to your skywards a/c and then under "Manage Account", use the "Print Card" feature on the bottom right. |
Would the hotel accept that?
I appreciate that is kind of like asking you what is the meaning of life!!! |

I still have my silver card (as you know, silver goes to blue) but that has expired so I doubt I can use that? I seriously doubt the Atlantis staff care enough to check whether you are Silver or Blue. (unless the discount is dependent on tier status) |
Thanks all.

A printout should be fine. All they need is a skywards number

Lack of Card...
When I stayed at the Atlantis with the Skywards discount they never asked me for my card.

Last but one time I stayed at the Atlantis, I was in a similar situation to you, waiting for a new card. So I did exactly what other people here have suggested and printed off a paper copy of my membership. The printout is exactly the same size as a real card, so you just cut it out. Receptionist didn't bat an eyelid............ Make sure you keep on handing in the card every time you spend in any of the restaurants or bars as you will get 15% discount. You need to show the card every time you ask for the bill though to ensure you receive discount. Expecting it to appear at the time you check out of the hotel as you hand the card in initially at reception is likely to result in disappointment! |
Nice one, thank you.

Sorry, me again, with another question.
Does anybody know anybody that has gone back to / is now a blue and have received their card? I cannot fathom how I confirmed my address over 4 months ago and despite 3 emails and now 2 phonecalls, still no actual card. Take it unless you are silver or higher they dont really care? Didn't really want to be carrying a piece of paper round with me everywhere I went. |
Good Luck, I'm a gold and still no card (more than a year including renewal) No card when I became a silver as well.
Emailed, called DXB office, called KWI office, and always the same answer of "it needs 3 to 4 weeks, we will put in a new request and wait until XYZ date." In the end I just gave up. |
I am only a blue and have never received a card, i just figured you only got one when silver and above.
