EK MBNA credit cards
Just got an email about the new EK MBNA credit cards: http://www.emirates.com/uk/english/s...anks/mbna.aspx
10k miles (on the Elite card) for anything you spend within the 1st 90 days seems too good to be true! Plus Emirates Business Class Check-in for Economy Class travellers :D |

Exactly the same as my Virgin Atlantic one in terms of mileage per spend (double on Amex and double on Emirates - so maximum of 4 miles per pound is nice). Do like the initial bonus. I guess the fee is quite high so probably worth reading the small print. |
I can't believe that offer. Will check the super small print. Looks like an amazing offer.

£150 annual fee on Elite
|
Thought the same too! Will check this out when I'm home.

You can check-in at the Emirates Business Class Check-in desks at UK airports when travelling in Economy, when your ticket has been purchased with your Emirates Skywards Elite Credit Card. This applies to any Economy booking class. You may utilise this facility unlimited times when travelling Economy Class. This benefit is only applicable to the main card holder. Simply present the Emirates Skywards Elite Credit Card used to make your booking, along with your Economy Class ticket, to the check-in agent. |
Given the fact that this is Amex not a terrible fee.

Seems very similar to the BA setup.
The 241 voucher makes it very attractive indeed! |

The 241 voucher makes it very attractive indeed! That said, with the way BA is going, it's tempting to replace my BA Premium Plus card with the EK version. I suppose the same issue about (lack of) reward availability can be said about both schemes. |

The 2-4-1 is different from the BA version in that you have to book a flex flight, and get a 'free' reward flight. With BA, you get a 2-4-1 on purely reward bookings.

All I can say is that in Australia we'd dream of having a card with such benefits tied to Skywards. The Citibank card gives chauffeur transfer and lounge access (1 per year) but it's not enticing if you're Gold or only fly J/F.
Also the 150k cap per year is a downer, specially with the recent increases to redemption levels ex- AU. |

I applied yesterday and got the card.. I did not go for Elite though as already Silver and could not justify the 150 spend.
