Gold tier nomination
 

Hey Flyertalk,

I've been flying Emirates for a couple years now and I recently discovered that Platinum members can nominate existing skywards members for Gold status. Apparently Platinum tier gives you a certain number of nominations (only a couple, I think), that you can then use. I was wondering whether there were any Platinum members on Flyertalk who would be willing to 'share' their nominations in exchange for rewards miles, and my eternal gratitude. It would also be cool if we could do this as a community and share our nominations when we eventually become Platinum members. I know this would be very useful for frequent flyers such as myself, as it would allow access to quicker service, more opportunities to upgrade and access to better lounges at DXB (to rest after shopping at the extensive duty free). I think the consensus here is far from sharing the gold nominations with strangers. And most Plats here might have already shared their nominations (only one each) with their partners.
Not to mention that your offer (in exchange for reward miles) -which is difficult to translate in practical terms, isn't going to get a queue forming specially with the ongoing devaluation of Skywards miles.
And then there's the can of worms with the terms and conditions of the Skywards program and Flyertalk.

Hmmmm.... selling Gold status...really something for the forum ...not

even if it was to be done, this is something for CC and not for this forum surely

I have trouble seeing any coolness in selling status to someone who has been a member of FT for < 11 hours

Hey guys, thanks for your responses. I was just wondering whether anybody was interested in helping a fellow freq flier out (the miles were really not meant as payment per se), I suppose I thought this particular branch of FT was most relevant. I, for one, would absolutely consider sharing my nomination if I didn't have any family/friends who were frequent Emirates fliers. I'm just curious to see whether there would be any takers.
And edy4eva: I just got silver so I have a ways to go :P

While I am sure the OP is genuine in his or her request we still need to abide by both the terms and conditions of FT and also of Skywards. This thread is now closed.
