EDIT: last minute cargo is also a huge revenue source on the route, and weight is also saved. It is not uncommon to find last minute changes to load and fuel as a result.

If that's the case then it would make more sense for EK to open up award/upgrade in F so that someone in J could upgrade, hereby opening up more availability for last minute 'J on the day' fares.
