Need a nice Dubai hotel recommendation near Dubai / Jumierah Beach area

I'm looking for a 5 night stay in a NON SMOKING Club type room, 2 beds, arriving May 9 for 5 nights, for 2 people near the Jumierah Beach area

A good club/executive lounge is greatly preferred; as is proximity to a beach and/or being on a beach.

I have the access o the following if it helps.
AMEX USA Platinum preferred hotels and resorts program
Hilton Gold
Tons of Hilton points.
Some Mariott Points.

Of course, I'd also be willing to pay cash if need be.

I understand it may be expensive, but so be it.

About us: 60 year old/20 year old father/son.

Or the club floor at the Hilton in JBR. On the beach and a good location.

If you need something a little more business like but also in the Jumeirah Beach area then try Grosvenor House (SPG though).

It is located across the road from the Le Royal Meridien and you are able to use the beach facilities there.

The Hilton has a fantastic location right in the middle of JBR. But honestly speaking, the rooms are distinctly average when compared to the likes of the Jumeirah Group properties (Madinat Jumeirah etc.) and the RC.

The new Fairmont on The Palm Jumeirah is sublime - it has its own beach, faces onto the marina end of Jumeirah beach and the Fairmont Gold Floor is beautiful.

Jumeirah Beach Walk (JBR)

I would also suggest the hotels in JBR. They face the beach, you have the JBR walk the second you step out of the hotels (the most happening area in Dubai at the moment), they are also good value, and all still effectively newly open.

Those are Sofitel JBR, Movenpick JBR, Rotana Amwaj at JBR (my recommendation)

Anyone recommend the Sofitel Dubai Jumeirah Beach ?

Looking for a week at the end of Jan for lazy, relaxing week.

Important things - On or right next to beach, good pool(s), good pool side service/food, gym,

I used to stay at the Sofitel JBR a lot.

The pool is probably the weakest area from your list but the rest are good. The only problem is that the are currently building another shopping mall directly between the Sofitel and the beach.

Have you considered the Sofitel on the Palm which opened this month? Might be a little pricier but looks very nice.

Burj Al Arab!

If too expensive then yes any of the hotels in Madinat Jumeirah are fantastic and the whole place is quite nice.

Yeah i looked at that, but i'm trying to find a half board deal and they don't seem to have this at the Sofitel Palm. Although their rate for 7 nights in a sea view room isn't too bad !

What about - Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort, Dubai,

Regarding Le Royal Meridien suggested above,

Was in Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and spa in 2009 and we liked it very much. Though the rooms were a bit dated, the public areas in the hotel and the pool and beach were very, very good.

Le Royal Meridien is in a very good location, because it's right on the Jumeirah Beach walk but not has all the cars in front that have for example the Hilton. (Almost all day traffic jams in the JBR can be so bad, so if you look to tour Dubai in a taxi for example, getting there can be a problem).

Give it a try and go for LRM ^

Is the Le Royal Meridien Beach Resort and Spa still nice? I can see from some reviews on tripadvisor that there is construction going on.

Has anyone been there recently??
