SkySurfers Platinum?

Hi all.

Does anybody know whether they will make a SkySurfers Platinum tier? If the qualification is 150 000 miles then I would qualify! As it is you get jack all from being a gold because you're "a child"

What would the SkySurfers Platinum rewards be like?

Brilliant question there Young Jedi, you do relise that you have now caused some peoples brains to melt. Maybe they will build a gold chromed extra big play pen in the first lounge. That should cheer everybody up.

After reaching the status a meet and greet with Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez or Justin Bieber.

Actually I've never understood why EK just doesnt treat young flyers the same as everyone else. Gold is Gold. Plat is Plat. The US carriers do this as does Qantas. Much easier to understand and manage if you ask me.

And yes, someone in DXB has probably just had a melt-down after reading this. I can remember someone telling me a year ago that they were going to do away with the family program and would over haul Skysurfers, but then nothing.

Zol and I will rattle the cage and see if something shakes out...

Sorry to spoil the party ...

Taken from possible questions customers may ask to us (crew) inflight.

Q. Are Skysurfers eligible for Platinum tier?
A. No, Skysurfers are not eligible for Platinum tier.

teiring, LOL . We aren't all 12 year old girls are we?

eightblack, Please convince them to give it to us or abandon the useless Skysurfers thing. The website SUCKS as does the "rewards"

cart_top, Why not? As eightblack said, gold is gold and platinum is platinum!

How so? It's a legitimate question.

I reckon that skysurfer points (and tier miles/status) should convert to skywards points at maturity (maturity of the person ;-) Does this currently happen?

But why can we not enjoy what we earn in the period which we earn it? Why should we not be rewarded like the adults who pay the exact same amount of money for their tickets? If you were a Skysurfer and earned miles loyally through an airline, would you not want to be rewarded for that loyalty? Even SAA reward and treat gold children the same as adults. But gold Skysurfers dont even get a welcome on board drink or a place on the Flight Register thing with the names of the Skywards pax.

You must have an incredible job at 14 to be able to buy your own tickets!

A lot of adults earn status by virtue of others ( such as companies) buying their tickets; what is the difference?

I don't understand why EK treats minors differently when it comes to a FF programme

Other airlines do have restrictions that apply; e.g. Qantas does not allow underage Gold/Platinum members into its lounges unless accompanied by an adult
