Pre Departure Drinks

Hi there

I wanted to get your view on EK and see what do you think of not serving Pre departure drinks before take off - especially in premium cabins such as First.

Also if the reason cited as safety issue as the FAs will not have time to perform all the checks and the crew might miss a glass before take off.

You think this is a plausible reason?

Safety always comes first, however, in premium cabins where there are so few seats, it would be mighty difficult for the crew to forget or misplace a drink. There are plenty of FAs around so there are enough people to serve and do the safety checks simultaneously.

Are they stopping the pre-departue drinks now?

Nonono
I wanted to seek your views IF EK does stop it one day citing safety reasons.

If they cite safety reasons do you think it is fair?

Did this happen with you?
If that's the case I would find it very awkward since part of the crew's duties includes running several services, such as the hot towel, pre departure drinks, coffee and dates, handing out the menus etc. So if someone cited safety as a reason for skipping the drinks service, I'd ask to have a quick word with the flight purser.

Are you posting this on every forum? Please don't cross post.

TravelBuzz would be appropriate for this.

Not cross posting but just wanted to see the opinions of different people

Someone from JL board thinks serving PDB compromise safety

You are cross posting. You've had a thread closed on the JL forum and posted exactly the same post on BA (and possibly others).

Can someone please enlighten me as to what cross posting is?:)
