An unusual upgrade question
 
I've recently booked 2 x DXB - MLE returns for my sister on her honeymoon.
I'd like to use my skywards miles to upgrade them to J however the EK systems are currently showing no upgrades in the month of October at all.

I suspect this is because we are too far out.

Does anyone know when EK upload reward availability and when I should be looking at booking the upgrades?

I suspect you will have trouble with this route but you are right that it is far out although I have J to F availability for DXB MAN on Dec 20th. Best thing to do is to set up an account on expert flyer to notify you if upgrade seats become available.

I agree. Expert flyer alerts have been a lifesaver. I have even had upgrades available 16 hrs before flying. Sometimes I get the feeling that they purposefully do it so that we will not be able to book the chauffeur drive.:rolleyes:

That sounds ideal, do I need the free or the pro version for this, and if the pro then basic or premium.

I also figured I might have trouble with this, but there are upgrades showing on this route within the next month or so, so they obviously do happen sometimes!

You need the premium for the alert to notify of availability but the basic suffices for searches.
