Upgrade help
 

I have purchased a economy ticket through a travel agency.
EK040 on 6/1/13 and EK302 7/1/13

I have 165000 points (Gold) and want to upgrade to business.
On manage my booking it is not giving me option only on return 6/2/13

Is it likely that i can upgrade , any help appreciated.

Set up an alert on ExpertFlyer www.expertflyer.com that way as soon as a seat opens up, you will receive an email letting you know. There looks to be more availability on EK304, but not sure if you want to layover that long in DXB. If it was me, I would set up alerts for EK302, 304 and then EK040 and EK038. Then adjust timings to suit if and when space opens up...

keep checking. Set up an alert on expertflyer. There is still plenty of time and seats might still be released for upgrades.I have seen seats available for upgrades 24-48 hours prior to the flight.

EK302 seems pretty full in J to me. But people might still cancel.

If i upgrade with points if available, still not showing any availability at moment.
Will i still be able to use chauffeur service?

If you manage to upgrade before the chauffeur drive cutoff, then yes, you would be fully entitled to use it.

Is it worth ringing emirates office daily or will it show on website first if any avaiability?

Still having no luck, i can upgrade return pary but not outgoing, will keep trying

Just keep checking when you can. I waited months to upgrade a DXB-NRT sector from J to F, it opened up less than 48 hours before departure.

Still no upgrade on bhx to dub and dub to shanghai, looks like crushed knees for me, i fly jan 6th so still hope left

Depends on the loads and demand etc but yes upto 6 hours before even. Keep trying or setup the alert. Should clear 48 hours prior

I have now had to rearrange flights from 6/1/13 to 11/1/13 , will be EK40 bhx to dubai and EK302 Dubai to Shanghai, i now need to see what chances of using points to upgrade, if anybody has any idea of chances please let me know

tried ringing them again, still no luck i guess i will have to wait until,closer to the 11th to see if posssible.

Still no luck, looks like probably have to go economy.

As others have said - still plenty of time for upgrade opportunities to appear (but no guarantee) - if yu expect to fly economy you won't be disappointed whatever the outcome...:)

Upgraded the 2nd leg from dubai to shanghai today with points on 12th january, hoping now 1st leg from birmingham to Shanghai on 11th jan becomes available

Yipee today got other flight upgraded, thanks all for your help and patience prevails.

Am not Gold, nor Silver. Have no Points at all, first Flight on Emirates for FRA-DXB-BKK on January 3rd....Is there any Chance or secret Hint for an Upgrade?

You would be at the bottom of the pecking order for a FREE upgrade, so I would suggest no chance. And, sadly, there are no funny handshakes or winks which will help either!

Any status is better than no status so having a skywards number gives you a better chance than not having.
Maybe you can ask at check in always worth asking.
Also worth asking on this forum if anybody can get ou in to lounge.
