I am planning a little side trip with my NZ family on my next visit down under. I was checking return fares from AKL to SYD this morning with my sister in New Zealand and we both came up with a very good fare 450NZD on our respective local EK sites. We agreed to finalise arrangements with other family members in the course of the day, to confirm these and then book this evening UK time. We both went on line and the fare is gone! It's now 625NZD, Not complaining, just saying.

The trip is still on :) but the next time I see something which looks too good to be true I won't hesitate!

It's likely that the cheaper fare will be back - EK fares fluctuate a lot!

Availability does fluctuate a lot with EK, fares on the other hand are well published and known ;)

But they do also fluctuate (read: tend to increase) a lot. Availability, of course, is what I meant in this case.

Try early in the morning or late at night.

EK have been running quite a few short duration sale fares on the trans tasman routes

O class fares valid for sale for just a few days have been popping up for example, so fares have been fluctuating ( in business at least ) a fair bit
