Never seems to happen on my flight.

:D

Reading the comments on the website, she seems to have lots of support from the viewers. Probably cause shes hot! lol

Anybody who thinks this is uncommon at Emirates is living in denial.

I'm more surprised that the Captain chose to report this to the police on arrival to the UK. If he legitimately had concerns about her being impaired, she should have been relieved of duty in-flight pending testing upon arrival. This implies that there may be more to the story than is being revealed here.

She's actually very, very, very lucky the flight landed in England, and got some media attention.

If the flight landed in Dubai things would of turned out a lot different for her.

Also my first thought when I saw the subject :-)

“At noon she got a call asking if she was available to staff a flight to Birmingham at 3pm.

“She wanted to make a good impression and said she was available.
I actually feel bad for her, but ultimately safety is more important. While the full story is irrelevant, I agree with B747: she should have been relieved of duty.

(Tongue in cheek mode n.b.) I bet some pilots and/or co-pilots have done the same in the past! Seems to me that twice the drink-drive level is hardly 'guttered' and she can't hold a few drinks. Agreed that she was lucky the plane landed in the UK, might have ended up limbless rather than 'legless' elsewhere. :D

But that was after a 7.5 hour flight. Unless she was topping up on the flight :)

If she was called in "last minute" as the report says, she could have just refused and mentioned she was unfit to fly. Sometimes, impressing your boss isn't always a good idea.

I'm sure there is more to this story though. But, using lsed's logic, I'm on her side :D

Agree completely. If she could pass for sober when joining the crew but caused concern on arrival, an input of alcohol must surely have occurred in-flight.

Now there are two sides to consider :

1 - She is responsible for passengers safety and in event of emergency have to be alert and ready. So EK done well.

2 - But, she is hot. And since an airline with hot and drunk stewardesses is my dream airline - EK done very bad.

Regards,

El Puerco Volante.
