Definitely A380 all the way for ULH. If you plan to stay inside your cabin all the while, then probably 77F. Done JFK-DXB in A380F and BOS-DXB in 77F several times and A380 wins hands down for me every time .

I'm quite happy to change from shirt and trousers into Pj bottoms and t-shirt at my seat in J, going anywhere else is too much effort!

I know this is not at all what you meant by 77F but it gave me mental flashes of someone being served dom in pjs next to cargo pallets

I fly EK mostly in F to African destinations and Europe. The 380 from MEL is much quieter but the cabin can be more crowded. The 777 connection from DXB to African destinations is a noisier aircraft but more private.
The 380 shower turns into a gimmick after first use and I have only ever used it once and probably not again.
I totally agree that it's the cabin service that makes the difference and its the same on all aircraft in the Emirates fleet - excellent.

I might revise my point if you are of opposite sex though.

And...change of subject! I much prefer the 777 in F. You do miss out on the showers and the J bar in the back, but the ceilings are so high up and the suites feel bigger. I also seem to enjoy better service on the 777 than the A380.

I'd say that the A380 wins hands-down! If you're concerned about fuselage shape, get one of the interior suites - I've been lucky enough to have been on lots of flights where I can sit in the middle and then move to an outward seat (I prefer 2K) to sleep. The main bonus on the 380 is the shower suite, EVEN if you don't shower. It is quite large - no contorting to change in to pajamas at all! Plus, there are attendants who watch/clean the shower suites throughout the flight. I happen to like to shower just before landing so that I don't feel 'unkept' during a layover/connection. But to each his own. As far as the bar is concerned, I quite like it - provides the opportunity to interact with other passengers. Of course, they know you're coming back from F because you've had your own bottle of booze brought back by staff. Between the two (777 vs 380), no question for me.

My regular flights always include a ULH leg (based in Australia) and so I almost always make use of the shower if I'm travelling F. If I'm connecting to a city on another 380 in F, I still like to shower towards the end of the second leg because I'll have slept and want rid of that horrible 'just landed' feeling one gets from aircraft cabins.
If I am connecting onto a 777 after flying on a 380 I notice two things. Firstly, the noise from air rush/engines is noticeably louder on the 777. Secondly, the air is dryer and the relative altitude is higher on the 777 (8000ft v 6000ft A380). It doesn't mean much if you're off on holiday, but if you're doing these routes a lot its a big difference.
My favourite frame right now is the 787. Humidity, pressure and cabin volume are excellent. Some silly decisions being made by airlines at the moment about layout and routing though (ahem, QF PER-LON and QR Y).
