Downgrading an upgrade ex UK??
What happens if I have to downgrade a sector from J back to Y ex UK departure.(If I had used miles to upgrade it from Y previously). From the posts on this forum, it seems that you can do it only if a seat is available in the same fare class as originally booked.
Do they refund the extra APD which was paid at the time of doing the upgrade? |

I would think they should refund you since you aren't using the J class ticket. I had a ticket in Y ex LHR that I then upgraded to J and had to pay the extra APD. I subsequently cancelled it (when the EK sale happened in Dec) and they refunded the ticket + APD collectd - cancellation charges of INR 5K.
maybe i should call them again. |
You definitely should. Speak with the local Skywards office. Sometimes it may just get delayed for no particular fault of yours. I had my Wife and daughter in the same PNR and they refunded my daughter's ticket a full month after they refunded mine and my wife's ticket after several calls to EK.
