BTW, just curious on how the baggage allowances work in such scenarios - JetBlue only allows the first bag free...

With the codeshare, wouldn't it be the international baggage allowance if you're connecting from/to EK metal?

I would hope so but don't know for sure. All bags need to be picked up at JFK so you can't interline baggage. I assume if I have an EK ticket they would allow me to check in 2 bags. I frequent Boston quite a lot for which I typically used Jet Blue in the past. Now I can use a single EK ticket!

You pick bags up at JFK Terminal 4, pass customs, and re-check them at the EK transfer desk. (Assuming it's an EK ticket)

Its a pity they didn't announce this sooner as I'm in New York and Chicago next month and could have taken advantage of their codeshare. I've not tried the JetBlue product either.

Could this be a path forward for a frequent flyer program tie up ? EK needs one more partner in North America, apart from Alaska.

Jet Blue would be ideal.
