Recent Experience on EK (Complements)
I have just flown back from DXB to SFO and would like to thank the Emirates call center over at DXB.
My flight was RUH-DXB-SFO, prior to flying RUH-DXB I called Emirates desk and enquired if I will be able to pay once for excess baggage allowance for both flight even though I will be having a 3 day stopover in DXB. The answer from the agent was yes I would pay only once. So we (me and my wife) packed and headed to RUH where the agent said that you will have to pay twice because We're having a stopover in DXB, I told the agent what I was told when I called Emirates but he wouldn't budge, So I paid and called Emirates desk straight after. The agent told me that he will investigate the call and see if I was right or wrong, after he confirmed that I got the wrong info, he told me to email EK and I won't have to pay another time. 3 days later and no reply from EK (as I was excpected) so I called a supervisor (Team Leader) 11 hours before our flight and told him about my issue where he said he will call me back later prior to the flight, I also informed him that I will be looking to use the instant upgrade option at the airport if there will be any seats available (EF was showing J4) but what I was doing was just a precaution. So 8 hours prior to the flight I recieved a call from him with great news of being upgraded to J class using my miles with full benefits (Saver reward upgrade). I thought I will not be eligible for the Chauffeur Drive at SFO but I was. Even though my requet for it was pretty late, I got 2 cars waiting for me at SFO. I was extremely happy with this because I got the upgrade on a flght that never shows any availability on a Saver reward upgrade. |
