Need advice re which planes for J class
 

It looks like this year I may be flying Dhaka-LHR-Dhaka at once or twice. The choices on LHR-DXB seem to be the A380 and the 777ER 3-cabin; on DXB-DAC, the A330 2-cabin or 777ER 2-cabin.

Am I correct in assuming that for the LHR-DXB legs the J seats are better even though seatguru indicates that they only have 46" legroom, and the 60" legroom seats on DXB-DAC worse?

Also, is it reliable that on the DXB-LHR legs I'd get the better seats, or is there sometimes a switch for planes with worse seats?

Firstly, Seatguru is completely outdated, antiquated, and incorrect. There are no seats with the 46" legroom it describes.

On LHR-DXB, you have the choice between the fully flat bed on the A380 and the lie flat on the 777. If you're after privacy, sleeping comfort or time at the bar, take the former, and if you're after better service and a little more seat width, take the latter. I find EK's lie flats quite good for sleeping - can't say the same for SQ or QR.

Oh DXB-DAC, take the 777 as far as possible. Even the old seats are better than the 332. I would take whatever LHR connection that allowed me to get on the 777 to DAC. 5+ hours on a 332 is not fun.

I'd realized that seatguru had gone downhill in the way you'd described, but wanted to see if it still had some useful info re EK. Too bad. It used to be a pretty decent site.
