OT: Gulf Air hit by boycott after minister denied prized seat

Off-topic but too good not to share.....talk about rants !!

Bahrain foreign minister has reportedly ordered government workers to boycott national carrier Gulf Air after he was refused his preferred seat, 1A, in business class during a recent flight.

What a suck with an ego problem, he really needs to focus more on 1A at the fitness center, and little less kuskus.

I'm sure EK will give him 1A + belly dancer if he brings his entourage with him.

How exactly does this work? A minister calling for boycott of his own country's airline?

Actually thats a bit harsh but knowing him in person(met 3 times) I can say this person has an ego that even the Indian Aviation Minister would look like a pony infront of him.

Lets see how things go in Davos next week as he is supposed to be there in Conf Rm No * on the 2%th Jan at #[email protected]&.

Will joke to him about the Article though if I can rope in the Russian FM into dialogue together with him.

Safe Flying

I think there is misinterpretation of what happened. Exactly I was in a similar situation just last week and I got the same frustration as the minister.

GF sells J fare (full business class fare) tickets which guarantee you a seat in the front cabin of business class (Falcon Gold) with 4 seats abreast. for D and C fares you get a seat in the second business class cabin which has 6 seats abreast.

so I assume what happened to the minister same as what happened to me. He bought full J class fare and then on check in he was told that the front 8 seats are gone and they put him in the second cabin which is 40% cheaper as it sold D or C, however, no refund was issued and as always the airline find silly excuse for that to not pay back any fare difference

I think with this type of behavoiur GF will lose a lot of business customers including me and of course the minister

I know it's a North African dish, was just joking because the minister never took one for the team, and let his ego get the best of him.

It's like Ronald McDonald boycotting burgers because his Happy Meal was missing the prize toy.
