There certainly is - and if you are a true iO member you should know that changing a reservation is a matter of a two-seconds' telephone call! Or a very short e-mail to them.

You have the time to struggle with the website but not call a number you can store on your phone? Even normal EK agents are pretty good with pulling up itineraries, and an email to the local office has a pretty quick response time. Even if someone else is doing this for you, they ought to call the iO number. Sorry but I'm quite confused by your predicament.

Things are changing at Emirates. I just got an email from them about an equipment change from a 380 to 777 on my DXB - ICN route on Feb 20. I am glad to see them implement these notifications, maybe somebody at EK reads these threads...

Hi Mr Whimike

This is to notify you that your aircraft changed EK0323/20FEB FROM 380-800 TO 777-3ER.

Passengers do not switch flights because of aircraft configuration changes. Believe me. They complain, they threaten, they demand compensation. But when it comes down to actually cancelling or switching flights, maybe 1 in 100 will actually do that.

Why would Emirates want to draw attention to something that over 90% of their passengers wouldn't even notice?

Well, I certainly noticed today just by checking my booking (so ie no notification) and they have re booked me, a Gold, from 1st row Economy on the 777-300 to half way in the back in the plane, to a middle seat no less, on the 777-200er

Thanks EK!

EK had switched EK501 from a 773-ER (Private Suites) to a 773 (Sleeperettes) during my trip in late Jan and then packed it with 14 pax instead of the usual 8. Sent a rant to EK about not being intimated about the change and the over-crowding of the F cabin.

Got a response back after over a month with a standard apology and " ... I would like to assure you that your comments have been conveyed to the Senior Management, for review of procedures. "

Don't think it is changing anytime soon.....

Must have been a couple of babies if they got 14 people into the 12 seats;)
