How busy?

I believe some people can access information about how busy flights are and whether they are full. I am travelling in y on ek 20 tomorrow wednesday 4 jnuary and ek 342 on Thursday 5 January, I would be grateful if anyone can help with whether these flights are full?

Thanks and keep up the great work, I enjoy the trip reports!

Thanks

Jo

F,P, A = first

J, C , I, O = Business

everything else is economy

The letter C instead of a number( example VC instead of V5) means that that type of fare is closed. If it is L instead of a number(example VL instead of V4)
then it means that it is closed but the waitlist is open.

Wow uk doctor thanks very much, does this mean there are 9 empty seats on ek 20 and about 120 empty seats on 342 or am I reading this thing wrong? I've never seen anything like this before so I don't know how it works but thanks so much for the info.

Thanks

Jo

Each letter is a sub-class of the highest. So for economy, Y is the highest. Y3 E3 R3 means 3 seats TOTAL of which 3 can be sold in either Y,E or R class. If you saw Y3 E2 R1 that would mean 3 seats total, of which you could purchase 1 in R and 2 in Y or 2 in E and 1 in Y or in 1 in R, 1 in E and 1 in Y (but not 2 in E and 1 in R.) Sorry if I'm confusing you rather than helping!

Y9 E9 R9 etc. would mean 9 or more seats (as 9 is the maximum the system will show at a time.) So for DXB-KUL it could be 9 or it could be 120.

OMG... I have always thought Y3 E2 R1 meant 6 seats available. Another interesting fact learnt off FT. Thanks sadiqhassan for the detailed info. ^

I also thought that that was the case and used to wonder why the seatmaps showed a full flight when so many seats were 'available'!. You learn something new everyday over here. Thanks sadiqhassan .^

Update

Well thanks for all your help, both flights were full in y, not a spare seat in the house, both crews were very miserable and did not smile very much, no drinks service on first flight outwith meal!

Thanks

Jo
