How does EK come up with this mileage?
 

First to everyone a Merry Christmas!

So today I'm looking to book reward flights as some miles run out next week.

Looking at MAN-NRT for maybe Oct. I can only get a flex business which according to EK site is 220,000miles each (I want to book 2 seats) so should be 440,000 but when I do a booking to use miles it comes up as a total of 418,000? Of course I would prefer to use up just 160,000 as a saver but cannot find any flights....

Anyone any idea how this is calculated, I have tried it many times just to check and still comes up with the same amount.

Any help would be great!

Thanks Dave, did not know about the offer, its a while since I used reward miles, but I will benefit this time having to book by 31 Dec...which is when some of my miles expire so its made me book instead of them just lapsing!
