email off emirates..advice needed

emirates have sent me an email, telling me i can upgrade for ££££.dxb-man on the a330.should i just sit on this and hope i get the op-up.im a silver card holder

It all depends on how much $$$ we are talking here?

Personally I wouldn't part with too much cash for an upgrade on the 330 as it is among the worst J products on the fleet.

If you could let us know what date you are travelling, a kind soul may take a peek at the loads for you....

Given that you have received the cash upgrade mail I would suspect Y is pretty full and op-ups are likely. Your chances of bagging one will depend on the number of IOs and Golds in Y.

I had the same offer from them from MAN but on the evening flight about ten days ago, being gold, I thought the same as yourself good chance of a free upgrade, but wasn't to be.

But on a positive note I had a row of 4 seats to myself in Y, quite far forward as well, slept like a baby all the way to DXB.

Hope you get your feebie, but don't take it as read that Y is full. Agree with dxbtraveller pretty poor C product on the 330.

Regards

It's 25k miles from a flex ticket and 32.5k from a saver ticket to do a miles upgrade. Not worth it on the 330 though.

According to EF, J is wide open, hence the upgrade offer. How much do they want btw?

As ung mentioned a miles upgrade on this flight would get you a pretty raw deal (especially if you are booked on a saver fare), and you'd be pretty disappointed when you saw the J seat.

If I were you, try and shift yourself into row 16 (D or E)- that way you get extra legroom, and increased chance of an opup, especially if they need to bump you for a bassinet.

It obviously depends how much "£££££" they are asking for the upgrade whether the offer is accepted or not. So, I will be the third person to ask the OP this question...maybe this time we will get an answer?
