Yes, 60 mins and you have to leave the aircraft while they clean and change crew.

PS Welcome to FT and the EK Forum!

I am on the 404 DXB-SIN-MEL in October.

By the looks of things the SIN stopover is now longer, nearly two hours. Assuming we do still get off I guess that can be spent in the EK Lounge? Is that likely close to the gates and how is it? Any tips would be appreciated.

Thank you.

Yes lounge access is fine. EK usually parks its aircrafts just under the lounge, which is near gate C1, up the escalator and to your left.

Piece of cake. Lounge is above C1, and depending on where your inbound aircraft parks - it wont be a difficult trek. My experience is that they sort of hover around C22-24 but can change (obviously). Max 5 min walk at most. Staff are excellent in SIN, food has improved and champagne is a plenty :)

Excellent. This trip UK to OZ will feature FIVE lounges......three EK and two QF. God bless my liver!

here's a tip, push the captain to get away from DXB on time! we were 1hr late leaving DXB yesterday morning which meant 1hr 15min late into SIN, this meant a 20min transit time and zero opportunity for me to pick up a few duty free items! The lounge as mentioned is right there, we were at C20 and it took about 2mins and I used it for all of about 2mins!

:o

Unfortunately quite a lot of EK morning south-east flights are regulated by Muscat ATC due to their capacity. Unless operations people will bargain for so called "slot" swap with other flight or improvement, you can usually expect anywhere from 30min to 1h30min delay. Just saying - most probably not captains fault

well that adds to clarity to it...we weren't getting much info from the flightdeck but nevertheless it did cut our transit time considerably. A little off topic but this archaic law of not being able to carry out liquor from a flight that transits in SIN needs to be scrapped.

A quick review of the Singapore lounge on Saturday evening.

We parked at C1.....how convenient was that? And the lounge was excellent.....not crowded as it was only populated by those entitled departing on the 404 and neither J nor F were full on the plane.

The lounge staff were welcoming and the food was really nice.....featuring one of the best prawn curries ever.

I shall look forward to returning.

C1 is typically the most common gate for SIN-MEL. And I've spent more time in the SIN lounge than I care to remember. Staff are super excellent. Food wasnt always that great and it was only when a certain President of the Airline visited, started to wave his arms at the lack of food and the fact that the champers wasnt standard issue Moet or VC. Was fixed in about 5-minutes...:)

I know this is slightly different but I'm doing MEL-DXB with a stopover in KL. I'm trying to get an upgrade to business, but assuming I don't and I have QF Gold, can I access the KL lounge?

Hey guys, sorry for the thread necro but wanted to avoid making duplicates threads on a similar area of interest.

So I got an EK404 flight next week from DXB to MEL and wanted to check on the exact procedure for deplaning and re-boarding in Singapore (never been to). In most airports the jet bridge leads to a separate arrivals level with immigration and baggage collection , etc, while the doors from departures is a different level and is closed. Since you have to deplane for the cleaning and crew swap and I assume some passengers are terminating at Singapore while others are starting from Singapore, do transit passengers go through arrivals and recheck back into departures or is there a separate path directly leading from arrivals to departures from the jet bridge? I assume the same procedure applies for the reverse flight on EK405.

Most airports in the world have international transit paths, you deplane, might have to reclear security, then are back in the international departures area. For those arriving there's a different path. This is the norm around the world, just the US doesn't have such facilities
