Getting through terminal 3 transit security
 

I've read elsewhere in a forum that there can be a quicker way to get through transit security in terminal 3 by taking the elevator to the next floor after arrival where the security checkpoint is far quicker.

My flight from the Uk arrives at 00.30 when it's quite busy with international arrivals and I would rather use my time better than waiting to get through security again.

Does anyone know how to do this?

Also does anyone know if there are smoking rooms in T3 or a bar where I can smoke. There used to be, but I couldn't find it so was forced to go to Terminal 1 or the Irish bar.

Ok now we try to extinguish your smoking fire.

All ur US flights end up on T3 as you are on the B7773ER or 7772LR & most of the time no CARGO except diplomatic BS on these trans-atl Flights so for you indeed there is no easy way out.

You have to exit like everyone else & play the game.

Lounge's crop up accordingly.

BTW if u want to smoke and want to be in peace then as off what I have heard the J Class Lounge near gate 122 in the older Terminal would make much much more sense for you but then this does depend upon your departing flight gate.

Otherwise unpaid smoking options in DXB r a pain the bu%$.

OP is flying from the UK, not the US. Both also have flights on A380s but either way he'll end up in T3 as you say.

Agreed about T1 lounge. If no lounge access, I think you still have to go to T1 for a smelly smoking room or the Irish Pub.

It'd be good to know if the elevator trick on arrival works. I've never heard of it before.

I have used the elevator route once on arrival at around 0530 and it was just as hectic as the normal route.
