A380 from MAN
Hello all. Looks like I'm going to be doing quite a bit of business in Bangalore\Chennai over the next 8\9 months and as such have just joined the Skyawards program and plan to fly with Emirates.
Having never flown the A380 Im bursting to do so, can anyone advise what time this flight departs to Dubai at so I can ensure thats the flight i pick (I give the flight details to my reception who then book them). Also, any wee tips or tricks that would be good to know when starting to fly Emirates through DUB? Thanks people and safe journeys ^ |
The flight is EK18 and departs MAN @ 14:10 returning as EK17 departing DXB @ 07:55

A third daily flight is due to be added commencing May 1. The new flight EK022 will depart Manchester (Terminal 1) at 9.40am daily, arriving into Dubai at 8.00pm. The return flight from Dubai EK021 departs at 3am arriving in Manchester at 7.55am (all times local). The new service will be operated by an Airbus A330-200 aircraft in a three-class configuration seating 12 First Class, 42 Business Class and 183 Economy Class passengers. |

Unfortunately, Emirates does not fly to Dublin yet (and is unlikely to, as Etihad have that market all sewn up).
Advise for the A380? Sit near the front in whichever class you are in. Transiting at Dubai is pretty simple, but it gets a bit crowded in the morning/late evening. My advise would be to spend a couple of nights in Dubai to split the journey. I like your user name by the way :) Cheer, Rick |
Why, thanks, Rick! ;)

Well, had my first trip on the A380 and also my first flight with Emirates on Saturday. The verdict............outstanding!
Firstly the A380. Incredibly comfortable (traveled in Economy), loads of legroom and lots of recline. The seats I found to be no problem for the 7 hour flight from MAN-DXB. The in flight entertainment system was amazing, so much choice! Plenty of toilets, so no queuing at ant time that I saw. Thoroughly enjoyed the flight! As for Emirates, thought the service was first-class! The FAs were friendly and polite throughout the journey and seemed like they couldn't do enough for you. Good wee selection of beers :) and the food was probably the best I've ever had on a flight (Lamb Medallions). Will definately be choosing Emirates for all my future trips to the east. ^ |
Out of interest, do they charge more for the A380 like they seem to ex-DXB?

What is the limo service guys............not aware of this?
The lamb medallions were absoutely delicious. Have to say the chicken also looked superb (guy across from me had it). Where I boarded the plane I had to walk by the bottom of the staircase which led up to business class! It looked AMAZING! One of my collegaues, who has done most of our business in India, got up to Silver Level and has been upgraded from economy to business twice now. He says its an amazing experience sitting at a bar at 36,000 feet. Having only just joined the Emirates program Ive only got one journey under my belt but with it looking like i'll be picking up a lot of the work in India\Asia now I'm hoping to progress up the ladder quickly (and hopefully up the staircase to business) :D |

I'm not sure you would have seen much as there's a galley at the top of the stairs to Business Class. You may have seen up the stairs to First and noticed the First Class Bar area.
