Here you can see the splitting of two metro lines leaving the NHT metro station. The right metro lane tracks lead to Expo/DWC. My last post showed how the addition to NHT station will look like.

Here you can see where the metro red line bridge section has been removed between JLT, and NHT stations. This is where a new conjunction will be added so in the future pax can travel from DXB to DWC without having to change trains.

Once this metro line connection is completed to DWC it will bring a whole new attractiveness, and connectivity to the city. It will certainly persuade many airlines to make the switch from DXB to DWC.

I can see once the DWC metro route is complete, and Expo 2020 is over we will see the world's next biggest building project start. DWC's first terminal, and two mega concourses with a minimum capacity for 120 million pax will get the green light to start, if not sooner.

Now if, and you never know EK, and EY were to merge we could actually see two/three terminals, and four mega concourses being built at once with a pax capacity for 240 million pax plus,. On top of that we already have the existing DWC leisure terminal with a capacity for 26 million pax.

And EDI - I wonder if EK would be interested...? Close to GLA, but a more "business" oriented rather than leisure oriented airport.

It was a while ago, but I read that EDI couldn't take B777s on an ongoing basis. With EK having got rid of the smaller Airbuses, they don't currently have anything to go there with. B787s are not expected until 2022.
