The lounge used by EK (there is another one opposite used by BA) is a windowless one I'm afraid. It is reasonably large (two floors) and comfortable and there is hot and cold snack food and all sorts of drinks (inc. champagne) on offer. All is waiter service at your seat. It can get very very busy late in the evening when the EK, MK, AF flights leave...
mods - suggest this is moved to the EK lounges thread as there is currently no entry for MRU

Hi, I'm new to the forum (great place!)
For the last few months I've been flying from London (Heathrow and Gatwick) to Dubai and I've always had 6000 tier miles for the round trip (3000 each way). My husband has had the same although we've only once flown together.
We both became silver members last month and the 2 flights that we've each booked since then have only given us 3000 tier miles for the round trip. I can't understand this?
Can anyone help please!
Thanks

Welcome to FT and to the EK Forum
What you're describing is the Saver versus Flex fare fiasco! More detail here. A lot of us are unhappy with this change in fare pricing/structure, but I'm afraid its here to stay...
Stay a while. Look around. It's good to have you here...

Thanks for the quick reply and welcome eightblack!
That's such a shame about the new structure, the skywards tier miles were the only thing that have justified an Emirates flight as opposed to the cheaper options eg BA - as my husband pays!
I've just had a look now and I'm not given an option of a Flex fare even - I'll grab a coffee and go read that link you sent and see if I can find out some more!
Thank you
