Upgrade clarification
Sorry for asking - had a look at the sticky, but I am not sure I understood it correctly.
I am currently looking at a oneway fare/flight FRA-DXB in economy which Iwould like to upgrade to business with skywards miles. So if I understood it correctly, there are no oneway upgrades unless the ticket is booked into a flex fare class, right ? If I am using a consolidator fare, I shall ensure beforehand that the fare is a flex fare - if not I could be stuck in a situation where an upgrade is impossible, right? The id (saver/flex) shal be in the fare endorsement, right ? |
TheAirman,
Welcome to the EK forum. I think you are confusing Upgrade Rewards versus Flight Rewards. You can upgrade a Saver or Flex fare from FRA to DXB. It will cost 32,500 or 25,000 miles respectively (one-way). A flight reward (ie free ticket) is only available as a Flex ticket, which would cost you 38,750 miles. Sorry if the sticky is unclear. I will re-look at this. Good luck. eightblack Moderator-EK Forum |
One way upgrade in saver is possible, just costs more miles than upgrading a flex fare.
It's only when using miles to purchase an entire ticket that flex is required for one-way. |
Thanks for the quick reply and clarification.
I think I mixed a few things up ;-) |
