emirates.com mixed class reservations

Is there a way to book a round-trip multi-hop flight when not all classes are available in each hop? For example, if you try to book a flight from BWI to DAC, in F, the BWI-JFK segment only has Y and the DXB-DAC segment has Y and J. However due to the BWI-JFK segment only having Y, you can only reserve a Y flight all the way through (even though JFK-DXB is the A380)

I did notice that if I split it up into multi-city (basically six flights), you could specify the class, but this seems excessive - is that the only way?

Actually the six flights is the only way, How much did you get?

Try and book the BWI-JFK with Delta or AA (or any other airlines if available) and book the rest with emirates, check if there is any differance.

I once booked a flight to Tokyo when EK did not have flights straight to Tokyo, so I booked to Osaka and the Osaka to Tokyo flight was in Economy with JAL, but it was the exact same price as if I'm going to Osaka, as if the Osaka-Tokyo flight was free.

I think this is where TAs come handy. EK.com won't let you book US domestic F in conjunction with intl J.
