In situations like this you could escalate to a supervisor or the path of least resistance might have been to go to the J lounge to upgrade the ticket, get your new boarding pass, then go into the F lounge. (I.E. The F dragon told you the incorrect info, does the upgrade, then makes sure you don't get in vs. leaving for a while and coming back and giving your F boarding pass to another dragon.) A colleague was op'd up a few weeks ago J to F and still managed to get into the F lounge.:rolleyes: |
Question about upgrades. I did some searching and couldn't find much. So I have an award flight booked on EK J in March from AKL - MEL. It cost me 35k. I didn't go for the F because it was 60k and I didn't want to spend that miles for such a short flight (especially since it was SPG ---> EK miles, the extra 25k miles didn't seem worth it).
However the website, when I click on "upgrade your flight with miles", offers me an upgrade for 12.5k miles which is more reasonable especially since I can transfer a good portion of that from MR. Before I do anything I want to make sure that it's a legitimate opportunity aka I don't want to transfer the miles to find out I actually can't use miles to upgrade a mileage ticket since that would just result in the miles being stuck there for a long time. |
