First Class Seat

Am flying EK F Cape Town-Dubai in the new suites.

Anyone know what the best seat is?

Thanks!

Depends if you're travelling alone - I went with 1A when travelling with my wife so we had the aisle between us! If it's you on your own I'd go for 1 or 2A. If you're with someone, go for the middle seats

Will be travelling alone and 1K is occupied leaving me with 1A or 2A/K

Some people say there is more traffic in seat 1??

I far prefer the rear row on the 777. If alone by all means the window, otherwise it's the middle seats as having your partner across the aisle is annoying.
Even the middle seats feel too far apart from each other, we find it hard to communicate well. So you get the picture with 2 walls and a passage. At least you don't have to lean forward.

I have done this route and we got a last moment switch to the 2-2-2 First with the small fridges, no suites. Way back got the suites.

Go for 1A.

Sadly not fridges rather a storage area for the cans and bottles that are not worth drinking warm - thus not many people consume the contents, rather they rely on the FAs to provide them with refreshingly cool beverages. More of a decorative feature in my view.

Yep, the mini bar is not really useful unless the traveler liked warm and hot soft beverages. Personally, I can't drink any of the contents without ice.

russellrst,

If the route is showing suites - IMHO any of the window suites are all same. If 1A/K or 2 A/K will all more or less be the same.

I hate the long flights with the 2-2-2 configuation, which IMHO is not acceptable for the highly priced first class!!!

2 A/K

What is the difference between the seats in F compared to J on a newly upgraded 777. I only ask bcoz I was recently upgraded to F for the first time and the actual seat seemed exactly the same as my J seat with the exception of the drinks cabinet.

Then you weren't in new F (Suites). The older F seats look very similar to the new (non A380) J seats. They just look wider, with more privacy, no middle seat, bigger screen. And I believe they are flat bed as opposed to lie flat.

Thanks for the info it looks like it was indeed the old F, there was a bigger TV and I think 12 seat in total, so definately not a suite.

If you're in the real suites, you'd certainly know it. Big difference!

russellrst Apr 16, 2010 5:40 am

Yeah, the old F on the 777 has flat bed seats compared with the lie flat seats in J....this IMO makes all the difference!
