What is the fare class in this fare calculation?

Hi everyone,

I just need a confirmation on this: In the following fare calculation, the class booked is M right?

LON EK DXB Q49.14 M/BT EK LON M/BT END ROE0.610424

Also if I wanted to change my ticket to a different date, would I need to find a flight with M seats available?

Thanks

Are you on a contracted fare? That's a non-public fare basis for that route, so it is not guaranteed you're booked into M as some contracted fares book into different booking codes. I guess the easiest thing would be to call EK to make sure.

Well yes and no, you would have to change to an M fare. I did change my travel dates into a different fare class before and the difference was GBP7 and a difference in airport tax (as I had to change LGW to LHR as well). So in the end changing fare might not be very expensive or change much. Just give them a call.

@Axey, can you or someone else give me a hint what fare class this is? N?

LHR EK X/DXB EK SIN0.00NUC0.00END ROE 0.00

No fare basis in there - free ticket. As I said though, the fare basis doesn't always reflect the actual booking code. IE I could be on a JRT fare but flying in A class.

Thanks for the quick reply.

When special fares are purchased from travel agents that have contacts with EK, there is a special ticketing method called "IT" or "BT" ticketing.

IT= Inclusive Tour
BT=Bulk Ticketing

The actual fare paid is surpressed from showing up on the e-ticket and instead the letters "IT" or "BT" show in the fare boxes and fare calculation.

Tracking is done by what is known as the "tour code" and "net remittance" fields of the ticket.

The only way to know what booking classes were used is to either ask EK, or ask the travel agent who did the booking.
