Lie flat or sofas on EK55 DXB-DUS??

Hi there,

Hoping someone may have flown this route recently and be able to help me.

After searching via the services by flight menu on the Ek website I am being told two different things.

If I search for services by flight using the flight no. I am told that the aircraft is in the process of being upgraded, but will use the newer lie flat J seats.

If I check it using the route (DXB-DUS) is says sleeperette seats...

Anyone know what's going on there??!!

I would trust the services by flight number on your date of travel. Alternatively you can always call up your local emirates office.

I did the DXB-DUS route last month and had the new lie flat seats both ways in Business Class.

Pleased to hear that merijn.

The website is really unclear!!

I'll find out tomorrow!!

No such thing. In fact I think its the other way round. I haven't seen a 777 with suites and no lie flat, but plenty with lie flat and no suites.

In my experience with DUS - DXB, if the aircraft is a 773, then you will get 100% of the time lie-flat in J since all 773 are refurbished. Note that I am NOT talking about 77W which have not been all refurbished.

Isn't there a 773 to CDG that doesn't have lie flat in J?

According to Emirates777, all 773 have been refurbished. I have experienced this on all my 773 flights (15-20) too

Hi everyone!

Just got home.....and cue drumroll....

It was the sofas :(

Was a 777-300ER, but I didn't manage to get a aircraft ID number. It's the service that makes the difference of course, but it is nice to have the newest model once in a while! Surely there can't be that many 777-300ER in the EK fleet that haven't been refurbished...

According to the fleet upgrade thread...

A6-EMD thru A6-EML except A6-EMG
A6-EBA thru A6-EBZ except A6-EBD, A6-EBQ, A6-EBR, A6-EBU, A6-EBW, A6-EBY
A6-ECB

DO NOT have lie flat seats in J.

Sigh! All I say is EK348/349. Although I hate going SIN-DXB via CMB at times I can't avoid it and it always is them darn couches.

I've been on a 348 with lie flats, just a few weeks back in fact.

Bummer, just my luck then I guess. I ended up on this darn flight twice this year already and never had any luck. Fortunately my next 348 is only in July. Currently it shows deep reclining... bummer.
