Nice Congrats! Did you ask/volunteer at the JFK Lounge prior to the flight? Or was it at the gate check in? I am on a flight DXB-Beirut this friday and although seat counter says there are availabilities, I called Emirates and they said all flights DXB-BEY are "sold" on Friday the 18th.

I am coming from Bahrain and have a 5 hour layover in DXB, wondering if I should ask at the lounge if they need economy seats and volunteer to be moved up (lol) or just wait and see if I get surprised at the gate when they scan my ticket
