Well Arabian Airpass is dead, after many years of providing good value travel.
It would be interesting if EK will introduce anything like it in the future. |

I might have been wrong. They just changed the URL:
http://www.emirates.com/english/offe...082976_1082598 Yay! |
The airpass price list has just been updated. In first they increased the fares by almost 30% while in economy prices have dropped around 30%! In business they dropped the prices marginally.
They also increased the number of maximum coupons from 4 to 6. |
Arabian Airpass To Meet Minimum
Will need 2500 miles to renew gold. In the past skyward members were able to book a quick trip to Doha via "Arabian Airpass" from DXB to make up small mile shortages. Curious if Emirates was still allowing this? Looks like I can fly that route in business r/t for $360 (usd) and get 3,500 tier miles

Base your calculations for the Arabian Airpass sectors on saver. It is still possible but it must be done prior to commencing travel on the international ticket (which obviously needs to start anywhere outside the ME/CAI region).
To mod, this thread can be combined with that old thread on the Airpass |
There used be an exception whereby if your long-haul ticket was in J or F, economy Airpass sectors could be booked in full Y which resulted in flex tier miles. Whether this still works I do not know.

Lots of small-print T&C's (surprise surprise ......... ;)) attached to the Airpass, check them here

Arabian Airpass Does Not Count Towards Tier Miles ???
I booked an an Arabian Airpass flight (DXB to DOH) to renew gold as I am 2500 miles short. Spoke to a customer service rep on the phone who assured me that I would earn credit for the miles.
In Dubai right now and called to double check. They informed me that Arabian Airpass miles DO NOT count towards ANY miles (including Tier miles) and that I will need to book another flight to earn the 2,500 miles. However when I go to Manage My Booking on the emirates site, it it shows that I am earning the tier miles (attached pic). I live in North America, so taking another flight to the middle east is less than ideal. I travel frequently but not again till the spring (and review is up in 4 weeks) http://i57.tinypic.com/10rl3xd.jpg Any help is greatly appreciated. If its not going to count, I would like to avoid doing a mileage run for nothing.. |
Depending on which agent you happen to speak to, the knowledge within Emirates of the precise workings of the Arabian Airpass scheme can be sketchy at best, or close to non-existent at worst.
I flew a couple of airpass sectors last year, and earnt both Skywards & Tier miles. I think you can feel safe - given they are showing up in MMB as per your screen grab - that you too will be credited with the stated figures once your sectors are completed. |
While I will admit to not having personal experience of using Arabian Airpass scheme, I would agree with subject2load and be more inclined to trust MMB rather than an agent (going by past experience in similar matters).
You have a screen grab too, which might be useful if, for some reason, you didn't get credited the miles. If I was you, I'd be fairly confident of getting them credited, but please let us know how it goes either way. |
