EK Flex... ?

I just booked a DXB-KHI restricted ticket booked in V class.

On the fare rules it says

NON-END/NON-RRTE/NON-REF/SKYW ARDS FLEX
Curious, that such a restricted ticket would be clarified as Skywards Flex? In fact, I have not seen a single ticket so far booked into Skywards Saver including the super cheap promotion fare JFK-DXB-HKG for about $800 all inclusive.

Also, I got a baggage allowance of 2PC ^ as I booked from the US site. Neat little trick.

Cheers,

Are you really asking what does that mean?

Q What are the new earning fare types?

A. All fares flown on Emirates will be categorised into two types; 'Skywards Saver' fares and 'Skywards Flex' fares.
The above excludes any special fares, for instance those for contracted group travel and package holidays.

Ontoip of the numerous posts here about it!

I am merely commenting on how a V (the lowest paid fare class available at this time AFAIK - looking at it again, it's V one way and X the other) qualifies as Skywards Flex [as opposed to Skywards Saver]...

The title is misleading -- and you explanation did not drive that point.

I think the whole issue of the Savers vs Flex is going to be on special fares namely, seat sales?, promos, two for one, etc. I think any published fare will still qualify. ... but we wont know untill they tell us more-- which seems to be taking too long-- but thats another story

Can you post th efare rules for your ticket-- that may give us all mor eof an idea. Can it be changed still for a fee etc?

I've checked the newer discounted First class fares ex some cities in the middle east and africa, also Skywards Flex although they are on A fare bucket

Interesting. Do you have to pay in dollars?

Yea, but the OP's flight didn't involve flying to/ from the US.

I thought the flex vs saver flights only applied after 1 Jan. Maybe i misread or was wrong.

I think Yoshi made the real point regarding this.

You can book (& pay for) flights up to 12 months in advance and get the current bonuses.

OK, the reworked Skywards may (or may not) be as good as people might like BUT
buy now
get the points as on offer now when you actually fly!!!

It's not a bad deal at all

Dave
