What to do with Points ?
 

Although not a frequent EL AL flyer, Mrs. Oceanrider ad I just earned 810 points each( she has a total of 890) I found the LY website confusing. What can we do with this amount of points?

Round trip to Europe is 900 points in coach per person. You can buy the points you need to get to 900 by the ratio of 1 USD per point.

A round trip to Eastern Europe excluding Russia is 700 points. To Cairo and Athens it's only 500 points per person.

Upgrade rewards are 100 points to Athens and Cairo, 130 to Eastern Europe, 200 to Western Europe, 500 to S. Africa and India, 700 to the USA and the far east and 750 to LAX.

You can't transfer points to another account but you can create a voucher for them to use with the points in your account

Also, I dont know about TLV to Europe, but to the USA they charge you the Fuel and taxes amounting to $461.30

Wow, where do you buy your tickets? Last I checked, the fuel surcharge is $206 each way to/from the United States and $84.30 for airport taxes which is $496.30

The best option is to use the points to upgrade. If you have an American Express card you can transfer your AMEX points to your Matmid account and receive a bonus of 20% more points. That way you can purchase an upgradeable ticket and go both ways in business class.

an upgradble ticket is very expensive.

this week to Belgium, an S ticket was 1360$, and W was 1480$ .. so not worth using points.
