PJs in F?
I'll be flying TLV-EWR in a couple days in F. I was wondering if there are sleepsuits? Also, anyone have a pic of the first class seat on the 772?

No sleeper suits I'm afraid.
This section of text from the first class section of the LY website must be off as well: "To make your flight even more pleasant and provide a homey, pampered feeling, we present you with elegant comfort kits, slippers and sleepwear. " http://www.elal.co.il/ELAL/English/A...lass/Gifts.htm |
There are PJs...
Yes there are PJs... You also get a very nice kit with that (like the one in
business but a bit more professional with quality products). Near the end of the flight you will get a small present from EL-AL, This change from time to time... Info based on my last flight to LA, 4 days ago... Thanks, Ebzed. |
Every flight I fly with El Al in first they always have had the PJs. BTW I have got some really good gifts over the years. Some times a nice leather wallet and some times some crappy hand lotion
|
The PJs are really good quality, and will wash time after time! They have 2 sizes, XL and XXL. The XL is not really 'extra' large, just 'plain' large!

Last time I flew LY F I got no PJ's, but might have been a one off. |
Now that we're talking first class, I noticed that in LY F they offer a car service to pick you up at your hotel in Israel, take you to the airport, help you through security and then there is a car to pick you up upon arrival at your destination and bring you to where you need to go.
When I fly CO, I use a service called Maman that whisks me thru security and takes me to the lounge. Is this the same or similar service that EL Al uses or do they not assist you through security the same way? |
Depends...
You can get the basic service of pickup from location, but i know this is only
from abroad (done it in jfk once), in israel i didnt heard about this service. The feeling i got is like someone is doing me a favour.... Once arriving to the Airport (jfk) i was on my own... Non-Comparable to Virgin's Upper Deck pickup/airport escort services When you fly First in EL-AL upon request (and $$$) someone will wait to you on the airport on arrival (from abroad) and will simplify your enterance process to israel. The other option is to pay for Traklin Mazada, which means you do the whole process (departure/arrival in tlv) in another "private" lounge/terminal, where the security, passport control and etc comes to you and you dont go for them. The whole process you are escorted, and driving thru the airport in VIP vans. Nice place to meet Arkadi Gaidamak or any other Cream de le Cream israelis.... personally, done it once, didnt felt comfortable. (cost me 69$). Thankes, Ebzed. |

On the return, I usually use that service also, but I read on the LY website: LIMOUSINE SERVICE First Class service begins as you leave home. A chauffeur will pick you up personally at your home, office or venue of your choice. Simply sit back in comfort and tranquility and let us transport you to the airport. We'll also be waiting for you at your destination, after landing, and a chauffeur will drive you to your hotel or office in town. On your return flight we will provide you with transportation service to the airport and on your return, from the airport to your home or to any other destination of choice. When you arrive at the airport, your Personal Representative – PR – will meet you and guide you to the special First Class check-in area, assist you with pre-flight arrangements and personally accompany you to El Al's special First Class Passengers' Lounge Is this true? |
If you PAY for First Class, you do get car service to and from the airport in all segments. I dont think those PR are always handy. I have not seen them for a while.

Do you mean as in "handy" that they aren't helpful or that they are never around? |

When flying business class to TLV - can you pay for the expedited services? Someone mentioned Traklin Mazada and Maman - if so, how do you go about hiring them?

I'll be flying to TLV tonight. When I get there, I will be picked up by them and I'll try to get their direct contact number to post here in a few days. It's about $150 per person, each way. Also, my travel agent told me that to use the car service at the destination airport (in this case, EWR) that when you check-in at TLV you give them the info and they set up a car for you. Is this true? I don't want to get to TLV and have the people at the F check-in tell me its too late and I had to do it in advance. |
