I assume you mean the on board service? The FCT is not just better, it is a million times better then anything LY offer. In fact the whole ground services and experience when traveling LH out of FRA is fantastic in comparison to any other airlines I have traveled with. I'm sure LY's service onboard in F is great, although I have never sampled it myself. The FCT facilities are better than the King David lounge (even though I like it very much) and especialliy as you say the service in the lounge and the fact that you do the check in there as well as the ride to the plane. |
I know the reason why... instead of just flying straight over most of the middle east... what do you do? You fly northwest towards turkey and then all around the Middle East....or fly south from TLV towards Eliat,Israel /Al Aquba, Jordan, then over Red Sea inside Egyptian Airspace to avoid Saudi and Yemani Airspaces and then out aroundthe Arabian Peninsula then out over Indian Ocean towards India and Asia.. ... the extreme flying out of the way adds tons of extra time airborne, hence more fuel.. hence.. higher operationg costs, hence higher price.. If i were you.. i'd fly to Egypt or Jordan... then take EK to BKK via DXB. in C.. they have great service.. and better yet.. you get Limo transfer to your final dest. after arrival in BKK or where ever else you go to....... :D^

What's funny (or sad?) is that you can get BA F or SIA F for less than 5300$ for TLV-???-BKK-???-TLV but LY F TLV-BKK cost around 5800$ (Yes I know it is direct but still!) Sometimes I really cannot understand LY pricing as their product for F is great but still below BA/SIA standards. |
My third F experience - This time on SQ
Hi all,
Following my previous report regarding LY F and LH F and following the many nice replies I would like to share with you my recent (2) flights in SQ F. I recently flew with a colleague the 772 and 77W on the SQ F. My summary is that I had great time and I have a new favorite (Guess what it is :-)) Regarding SQ - The SQ 772 F is nothing to write home about, it is more like a LY C or LH C than an F product. However, the SQ 77W F product is unique in almost all aspects: The terminal in Singapore is really nice - The check in for F passengers is in a separate check in area - Very comfortable and quick - I think it took us 2 minutes to get to the lounge. The lounge is the best lounge I have been too after the famous FCT in FARA. It was very impressive lounge with great food and nice atmosphere. Also, in my opinion the Singapore airport is the most beautiful in the world. The 77W F is also amazing - The size of the seat is amazing- Both myself and my colleague could sit together on the same seat comfortably, and also the bed mode was great- I did not want to wake up :-) The AVOD is great on the 23 inch screen! But, the quality of the movies is really bad - SQ can use higher compression to get better quality I guess. The food was good - And my colleague (who drinks alcohol) also liked the Krug and Dom offered :-). We specifically liked the last dish which was a chocolate cake with gold (real gold :-)) on top of it. The service was very professional and courteous but I would still prefer the warm service of LY. To summarize let me add my PERSONAL feeling regarding SQ versus LY versus LH. Terminal - FCT (LH), SQ F lounge and last LY F lounge Seat - SQ 77W amazing, LY and last LH Food - SQ, LY and last LH Service - LY , SQ and last LH So all in all because of the amazing seat a- SQ 77W wins! Otherwise will take the LY F (Old one not the new one) anyday :-) My next adventure is unknown - Perhaps BA F? Any recommendations will be appreciated. Best to all |

the next one will be to LAX next week I did the SQ to SIN on the 777-300 new F product nothing to compare to LY The ffod is better the seat is much much more better and F/A are better I love LY but some of the F/A needs to learn about the new standarts of service In my last flight from AMS to TLV there was only one (old ) F/A (for 22 PAX in Biz Class) she was rude, not nice , very bad service... like in the god old days (When she was preaty young F/A ) LiorM |
