electronics from mumbai to TLV
ELAL's site states strict rules regarding carry-ons from mumbai. (see the following). mr. Haniboo would like to know if you have flown that routing recently, were you able to carry on noise-cancelling earphones, disk-on-key, and PDA. ( because it says laptops are allowed, but ipods not, are they concerned soley with music-producing electronics...or what?)

I landed this morning and in my carry-on had:
Laptop iPod shuffle Shure E3C isolating earphones 3 thumb drives (a fourth may be hiding, I'll find it one of these days) regular headphones bottle of mineral water all sorts of plug converters |

As discussed in the thread about Rosh Hashana cards in September they weren't letting liquids through security. They didn't appear to be searching for liquids this time. Also they seemed to be more lenient on the internal flight from DEL to BOM than they have been in the past. I think that they've chilled a bit with regards to the liquids and electronics. I found it very odd that LY issued the big warning to travel agents about BOM considering my experience there in November and now. Seems like they were just a bit slow on the uptake. Of course YMMV so perhaps others will chime in with their experiences of late. |
