Free Flyweb til end of the year!!!!

Apaprently EL AL will offer its FLYWEB service free of charge, from October 2 til Dec 31. On Dec 31, Boeing will stop the internet service.
Since it is Boeing who makes the charge, I guess that all airlines will offer the service free of charge til the end of the year.

Not so sure about that.

I just read on a.net that SAS will also have the system free. It makes sense, since it under the "connexion" business plan, boeing got the proceeds from the use. Boeing paid for the installation and for the system. It also paid for extra fuel the a/c was burnng because of the two humps (antennas) on the plane. LY mostly benefitted from offering the system to its customers.

LY has not made decison if it will continue the service, it looks like Panasonic has an answer for any airline still interested in offering interent onboard.

I know this has been answered somewhere here before, but how many of LY's 777 and 744's have it installed?
I have yet to use it, as all my recent trips have been on smaller planes (767/737).
I do have a trip to LHR coming up and was wondering if it would be on board or not.
I guess there is no way of knowing until you are actually on the plane?

All four 744 in LY's fleet have them plus one 777 (ECA).
