Liquids now permitted?

As far as I can tell from the LY website, liquids, gels, etc, are now permitted on most flights.

It still gives the long list of what is banned on flights but it tops the list with a notation in large, red, letters:

These restrictions apply to the following destinations: England, USA, France, Poland, Rome, Frankfurt and Mumbai!

Uh...where else are you going to go Dov?

(As far as I can tell two of YOUR favorite destinations are still on the list?)

Nope, I very rarely go to Rome. My favorite destination is Milan -- and for some reason that is not on the list.

Does that restriction apply for travel both to & from. Or will LY allow you to bring on whatever you want including Gels and water out of TLV when flying to those cities. But will adhere to the restrictions in place which would prohibit from doing so on the flight to TLV.

I dont know why LY or security at BG would care what one brought on board, of cause except those items that have been banned from LYs cabins since 1900. ie, I believe that the ban on rollerboards is still in effect out of the UK and BA more or less has banned them or at least it did for awhile. So that would mean anyone flying LY out of LHR would NOT be able to board with a rollerboard, dont see the problem unless the UK authorities banned them from ALL incoming Carriers as well, as to why a passenger wouldnt be able to at least have their RB with them in the cabin on a LY TLV-LHR flight. Or why they wont let you board with a bottle of water, again thats out of TLV only.

the problem with the RB could be if you cant take in with You in the cabin on the LHR-TLV flight will they count it as the 1 piece of luggage that they allow as checked luggage. If not then no prob if it counts , I can see where a person might not want to take it with them on the TLV-LHR flight as then if they hve a reg bag checked they might have to pay for the RB on the way back.

Those are the restrictions leaving Israel. For specific restrictions on flights to TLV from various airports, see the LY website.

The ban on liquids is destination specific, not a global restriction in TLV airport.

By the way, I flew out of CLE on 8/13 and while they kept saying on loud speakers liquids are banned, nobody actually checked for them. It's just like saying - "dear terrorist, we kindly ask you not to do your thing on our planes. We are not going to check you, your cooperation on the matter is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, the authorities" :D

The restrictions FROM these destinations are enforced by the local security force in those airports. The restrictions TO these airports are enforced by the airline AND the local security - I guess in order to avoid extra search on passengers upon arrival.
