Israir baggage policy
I am hoping that my upcoming Israir itinerary (marked as leaving from T1 and arriving at T3) actually does land at T1 and then sends you by bus to T3. The walk from the T3 gates to Passport Control is a heck of a long one, but the one and only time I was bussed from the plane to T3 (on an AZ flight) it left us off right next to the door going into Passport Control. That is definitely worth the 8 minute bus drive!
Perhaps off topic but I have a question that some of you might be able to answer. I have never flown on a low-cost airline before. Every flight I have ever taken was on a legacy airline which allows you one piece of carry-on luggage to go in the overhead and a second, smaller, one which can fit under the seat in front of you. Israir's site mentions only the trolley to go in the overhead. Does Israir also permit the smaller piece in addition to the trolley? |

Just texted some friends who do fly Israir ( SH international), they say they have had no issues with small laptop bag/briefcase in addition to the cabin bag. They only ever fly HBO. Hope this helps, but I agree the Israir website is silent on this point. |

That was apparently far too easy for TLV. The bus did take us to the terminal, but to a different door. It went to an escalator which brought us to a small room where we showed our passports to a machine, had our photos taken, and received small tickets. To get out of the room we had to show the tickets to someone from Security but not give them to him. Then we found ourselves on a long walk (about 50% of the usual walk) with part of it being on a moving sidewalk. To get to the baggage retrieval area we had to insert those small tickets to a machine which ate them.

That is the usual route now for the bussed arriving passengers. This small room can get occasionally chaotic and overcrowded.
Re- "small tickets". I second davidcamp6: I only scan them to be let through to the baggage area, rather feed the machine. |
