LHR El Al lounge situation?
Are LY still running their own lounge at LHR since the pandemic? If not, which lounge do they use? Is there kosher food available and do you need to ask for it specifically or order it in advance if so?

Quick answer - no ElAl lounge at LHR.
Longer version...
When I flew in early October I was informed that it was likely to open in 2 weeks. However when I flew yesterday nothing had changed and as far as I can tell it won't. The old lounge had a new name and sign on the door - not related to LY at all.
Alternative
The Plaza Premium Lounge - is being used instead. When you check in to the lounge using the invitation given at the ElAl check-in counter your boarding card is stamped which allows you the "premium" alcohol at the bar. you are also given a kosher menu which has 3 options for starter, 3 for main, and 2 for dessert. everything is prepacked and there's no limit on how many times you can order more. you simply mark off which items you'd like and give it to one of the serving staff who will place a number at the table you're at and within minutes you'll be given a tray with your heated selection. The staff is far more helpful/hospitable than we used to get in the dedicated lounge (minus the personal touch if you were a regular visitor) and to be honest, I think the food is better - even though it's provided by the same caterer.
Hope that helps.

I flew on Monday and the new lounge is called Blush (operated by Plaza Premium). Its the old King David lounge, just rebranded. Nice space but peace was constantly interrupted by non stop announcements from the Qatar Airways boarding gate nearby - somehow they did not isolate the lounge speakers

There's an article on Head for Pointstoday all about the new lounge: Plaza Premium takes over the El Al lounge at Heathrow Terminal 4

There are some pictures of offerings + menu in Plaza Premium here

But as stated above, may not be relevant now that LY lounge is available.
