Is Ben Gurion closing as part of September 2020 lockdown? If so when?
Israel is expected to enter a minimum 2 week lock down.
According to reports the airport is likely to close or enormously minimize traffic. Anybody got more concrete information? |
I am not sure what is going on. Ask Dovster. He will figure it out for you.

According to the Consul General in the Israeli embassy in Singapore (he has a whatsapp group for local Israeli expats where some inquired about this), airlines may decide to cancel flights due to the closure but Israel will not be closing the airport or preventing airlines from arriving or departing. The more official announcement above reflects that.

According to The Points Guy (I also saw this in the Israeli press, but can't find it right now):
Notably, Israel’s Ben-Gurion International Airport (TLV) will remain open after some initial uncertainty. Israelis departing TLV must be able to show their tickets four hours before their flight in order to leave the 500-meter house quarantine perimeter without violating the terms of lockdown. Returning travelers can enter freely without quarantine when returning from “green” countries, while travelers entering Israel after passing through “red” countries must observe a 14-day quarantine at home upon arrival. The full list of approved countries can be found here. |
