How do I cancel a flight on the El Al website?
 

Hello! I've never flown El Al before, but I have a reservation for a TLV to MXP flight for July I want to cancel. It is a "Flex (U)" fare, so the cancellation fee is evidently only $50pp. But, when I use the locator and our name to pull up the reservation on the El Al website I do not see any button/option for actually cancelling the flight. Is there a trick I'm not seeing? Any guidance I can get from El Al experts would be much appreciated....

You're missing nothing. The website is useless with that kind of stuff, meaning you have to call which is somewhat unfortunate at the moment.

I got through to ElAl today. I wanted to cancel a flexible flight in May, but couldn't: El Al is currently not processing cancellations and refunds beyond April.

They may feel that they will have flights in May! If they are flying and Israel is allowing tourists, than rules are different.

I had a flight at the end of March cancelled in mid March (as the airline had basically stopped flying by then). Even then I couldn’t get the refund online. I was told over the phone that I’d receive a refund.

the refund still has not come through, so I initiated a chargeback with Amex. While El Al aren’t open for processing refunds now, I can almost guarantee they will be willing to put in the time and effort to fight the chargeback.

I noticed a refund form on the El AL website (for American customers) and submitted a request for a refund today. My flight was indeed canceled and, as noted above, we had flexible tickets anyway. Has anyone on FT had success with receiving a refund via this online form?
