TLV T1 closing for maintenance or construction

I have received a few messages regarding our El Al flight (previously an UP flight) at the end of next month. At the date of our flight, T1 will be closed for "maintenance works" and consequently, we should present ourselves at T3 instead.

I don't know the dates of the closure and the specifics of the works. Could this be about expanding the terminal to reduce congestion?

Probably related to this - https://www.ynet.co.il/articles/0,73...362804,00.html

Massive overall expansion for the airport to enable to receive more passengers. Also a claim that eventually T1 will have incoming flights as well

Thanks Josh. Looks like my guess was more or less correct.

They says that terminal 1 is underway renovation. They installed new carpets, new toilets, and etc.

That passengers will feel during the coming year is the renovation of all the public toilets in the terminal, as well as the replacement of all carpets in the arms leading to airplanes. The new carpets that will be installed in the terminal will actually be "tiles" of carpets, so that whenever a small "floor tile" gets dirty or has a high wear, it can be replaced and there will be no need to replace the carpet in that area.

In the coming year, the hotel's guest rooms will also be upgraded. This refers to lounges for the passengers of the luxury departments, who are in their arms and serve all the airlines. They will be replaced with carpets and furniture and the restrooms will be renovated.

Terminal 1 will also double in size. This is in view of the continued growth of the low-cost companies. Today, approximately 17% of all passengers on international flights leave this terminal, and the number is expected to increase in the coming year.
PS. I translate it for you. You can see it now.

There are no hotel rooms at T1, and the Jetties leading to the planes are not called arms...

Yes, I went on Google Translate. You can read English from Hebrew, but I don't speak or read Hebrew.

So... Does anyone know when LCC flights will land at T1 again? They claimed that it was supposed to happen but nothing doing. Just makes everything longer and more annoying
