Does a CPAP count against the carry-on allowance?
I've sent a message to El Al via Twitter but no response after two days, so perhaps someone on FT knows the current policy: I'm traveling ATH to TLV and will be carrying on my CPAP. I don't need to use it on board. I just need to know if I can carry the CPAP, as a medical assistive device, in addition to the permitted carryon bag and personal item (as is the case on all U.S. carriers), or if the CPAP counts as one of those permitted items. Thanks.

Turns out the gate agents DID count my CPAP as a carry-on item. I was able to bring it on board only by stuffing my "personal item" into my rollaboard so my CPAP became my personal item.
