Changes coming to hard product

The purser on today's flight told me:
- SXF will be 737-900
- KBP will be 737-800 with C class
- SOF and ATH will be the UP aircraft with no C
- 737-800 will get new interior, C class similar to 737-900, more seats in Y, the galley will become smaller since no more meals on flights to Europe (this will start soon)
- after summer 2019 the 777's will get an interior similar to the 787 (No F, new C, PE, 10 across in Y)

They don't know exactly what kind of food will be served on flights to Europe.

Potentially aligning with what European airlines are doing for short(er) flights? e.g. either just give a snack or who knows, maybe BOB...

Thanks for the update Houminer.

Surely on longer European routes, like LHR,CDG,MAD etc they will still be serving proper meals?

And did the purser you spoke to say when the refurbishment of the 738s would take place?

Aegean serves meals on flights between TLV and ATH.

I am sure meals will stay to routes such as BCN, CDG, AMS, LHR and MAD.

I asked on my way back:
meals will be served on London and Paris flights, this does not completely make sense since CDG has 737's
The refurbishment will start soon...

I flew to ATH 2 weeks ago. They were already serving sandwiches instead of a meal. Was quite disgusting I have to say (and I'm easy to please when it comes to food). I find this acceptable on a 2-hour trip but find it hard to believe this would be enough on flights to MAD or BCN..

Or AMS, FRA, BRU...

True...

Same situation with LTN.
